North Korea promises Nuclear War if attacked

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - North Korea is ready to answer a pre-emptive U.S. military attack with an "annihilating strike and a nuclear war," the state-run media said Monday. The Korean Central News Agency, citing an unidentified Rodong Sinmun newspaper "analyst," accused the United States of increasing military pressure on the isolated communist state.

The North Korean threat of retaliation, which is often voiced by its state-controlled media, comes amid U.S. official reports that Pyongyang has shown signs of preparing for a test of a long-range missile.

They've been spouting this "WE HAVE NUKES, THEREFORE WE ARE GOD" nonsense for quite a while now.

Nuclear defense or not, somebody needs to put an end to this crap.

Well we have known they have had missles and nukes, and other WMD since 2001, but Bush has left them alone because guess what, North Korea has no oil, at least nowhere near the crude oil that Iraq has. Something should have been done before now, IMHO N. Korea posed a much bigger threat than Saddam, and admitted to having WMD, the US only suspected Iraq of having WMD and none were found, this is what you get when your president and VP are both motivated by oil and greed!

i dont think oil has as much to do with it as some think

some reasons we dont do the same to North Korea is big brother China...plus the fact that we blew our load in Iraq and we're spread out enough as is...there's a lot of factors that go into it but some things are puzzling

Iraq - no WMD's, no way to deliver WMD's...we attack
Iran - have WMD's, no way to deliver...we plan to attack
N. Korea - have WMD's, test them...we plan to talk??

not saying the talking is a bad thing...but ummmm...whats with the hasty movements in the prior 2??

Let me correct your statements.

Iraq - had and used WMD's while Saddam was in power, could deliver by means of Islamic terrorists....we attacked
Iran - have WMD's, could deliver by means of Islamic terrorists...when have we planned to attack? all I've heard so far is negotiations.
N. Korea - have WMD's, test their delivery capabilities which was an epic failure...and yes we plan to talk.

Iraq has WMD? News to me. North Korea missile failure.... an "epic" failure? LoL. Bottom Line is that we have more serious threats than Iraq was at the time.

Well I guess you don't follow the news then. Ask the Kurds if Saddam had any WMD's. Ask Kuwait what they think. Ask Syria where he had them delivered to on 747's just before Operation Iraqi Freedom began.

Yes their tests were a huge failure. Most experts say they are 10 years or more away on a technological scale of being a threat to the United States with their nuclear program. Islamic fundamentalism is not an issue in North Korea so they would have more difficulty in actually formulating a plan for attack. North Korea is a serious threat and have been for some time now but MORE of a threat than Iran or Iraq under Saddam? Not real sure about that just yet because of traditional middle eastern ties with terrorism. North Korea is strictly a state sanctioned threat(albeit a legittimate one). Iran poses many more possibilities. We can easier keep track of N. Korea's day to day actions. Its harder to do that with countries who have terrorists ties and affiliations. Iraq is absolutely no threat to mainland America right now but they were during Saddam's regime and they were a threat to Isreal just as Iran still is.
